Left Democratic Front (LDF) representatives walked out in protest from an all-party meeting called by Chief Electoral Officer (Kerala) D. Sajith Babu on Friday (October 23), demanding that all voters be excluded from the electoral roll after the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) in Kerala.

Communist Party of India (Marxist) (CPI(M)) leader MV Jayarajan and Communist Party of India (CPI) leader Sathyan Mokeri later said they demanded that election officials restore the names of 24,08,080,000 voters in the voter list who were excluded when the draft SIR list was released.

“The CEO has expressed his helplessness. We have asked the CEO to forward the demand to the Election Commission of India (ECI),” Mr. Jayarajan said.
