Pakistan: Members of the Hindu community in the Pakistani province of Sindh organized a protest against the illegal occupation of six acres of land belonging to the historic temple in Hyderabad in the country.
Demonstrators demanded an urgent action against builders who are reportedly from the Kškheli community. They also claimed that the builders also blocked access points to the Shiv temple, which made it difficult for the community to maintain their weekly prayer, PTI reported.
The protesters, including women and children, came to the call of Pakistan Dalit Ittehad (Pakistan Dravid Alliance), an organization that advocates the well -being and rights of the Hindu community, mentioned the PTI report.
“These people have already started illegal construction on the Shiv Temple Shivala in Musa Khatian,” he told reporters of the Seetal Meghwar Hinda community.
No legal steps in spite of a written complaint
Shiva Kaachi, the PDI chief, expressed frustration from the inactivity of the authorities despite written complaints to the police and the district administration.
“Although the police had submitted written complaints to the police and the district administration, no legal steps were taken. Due to the political influence of the Grabbers Land Police, the police are not willing to eliminate interventions,” PTI quoted Kaachi.
The PDI head warned that if the situation remained unresolved, the next phase of protests would move to the city of Hyderabad in Pakistan and the community would also look for legal remedies through courts.
Protests held in Tando Jam
The demonstration took place in Tando Jam, located in the Musa Khatiyan district, about 185 kilometers from Karachi.
Another leader, RAM Sundar, emphasized the spiritual meaning of the country, which also includes cremation ground.
“The temple is sacred for us, and these builders have started construction on the ground surrounding the temple, including the cremation land for the community,” said Ram Sundar.
The protest ended with sit-in in various places in the city and the last demonstration in front of the Tando Jam press club.
