Toothukuki’s strategic location, Talents Fund Tamil Nadu and government support were the key factors of VINFAST decisions on the establishment of a production plant in the state, said CEO VINFAST Asia Pham Sanh Chau.
The Vietnamese automaker is ready to start the production of its VF7 and VF6 models at the thoothuku plant in July, while the reservations will be open in June.
Last year, in Chennai in Chennai, VINFAST met me with the Tamil government for an investment of 16,000 GBP Crore in several stages for EV production in thoothuku.
In an interview with Hindu in Hanoi, Mr. Chau recently said: “We visited six states and checked 15 seats before we decided to choose thoothuku. Because we want not only to serve the domestic market, but also the exterior market, we must be placed very close to the naval port and airport.
Mr. Chau said that Tamil had an impressive talent fund. VinFast Vietnam employed a large number of Indian engineers, most of whom came from Tamil Nadu, added and added that the state was also a center for suppliers.
“The Tamil Nadu government was very helpful. Whenever we design anything, make efforts and meet our requirements. That we got to the final call.

Rajaa replied to Mr. Chau’s comments and said, “The integrated VINFAST factory in thoothuku laid the foundation for the new green industrial cluster in southern Tamil Nadu. Together with solar and green hydrogen projects, it will bring renewed economic power to the region.”
According to him, the VINFAST project creates high -quality jobs for local youth through targeted upskilling under Naan Mudhalvan, and at the same time enables a prosperous MSME ecosystem to support the value chain EV.
“This cluster approach is focused on sustainability and inclusivity. The aim is to convert thoothuku into a new generation production and export center with its proximity to the port, the region will become an export gate,” he added.
According to him, Tamil Nadu focuses on fair industrial development and VINFAST investment is an example of how the government creates global opportunities throughout the state and ensures distributed growth.
