The Andhra Pradesh Farmers Coordination Committee of the Association Vadde Sobhanadreesware Rao demanded that the Union government to perform C2 + 50% formula (remuneration at least 50% above the comprehensive cultivation costs) at a minimum support price (MSP) (MS).
At a press meeting on Sunday, the former minister said it was unfortunate that the Union’s government could not make the Swaminathan Commission recommendations. The current government, which came to power that promised the implementation of the MSP to 50% above the complex production costs, deceived the farmers by not fulfilling this promise. Despite the assurances provided during the protest of historical farmers, the Union’s government did not create the committee of the MSP. In addition, he announces the SME arbitrarily without defeating the leader Samyut Kisan Morch, and that was very undesirable, he said.
Mr. Rao criticized the government of the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in Andhra Pradesh for intensive focus on attraction of industries, and at the same time showed no concerns for farmers who make up 62% of the state population. The main Minister N. Chandrababu Naida ran and claimed that no crop in the state was currently receiving a minimum support price. In Telangana, the 500/500 £/Quintal bonus is given above the SME for the A-class rice. Similarly, the governments in Chhattisgarh, Karnataka, Jharkhand, Keral and Odisha provide bonuses to support farmers. He condemned Andr Pradesh’s government for not taking into account the bonus on the basis of cultivation costs.
KVV Praad, General Secretary of the State Andhra Pradesh Ryth Sangham, said it was outrageous to increase the MSP for Paddy by only 69 GBP per quintal, and demands that the government repair the SMS for 3,135 GBP for five, which includes 50% above comprehensive production costs.
Y. Keshav Rao, Head of Rythu Sangham, Simhadri Jhansi, President of the Agricultural Union, P. Jamalayya, Secretary General of the Association of tenants Andr Pradesh. D. Harinath, State Secretary General All India Kisan Mahasabha and others spoke.
