Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s wife Akshara Gupta was extremely happy after meeting Rohit Sharma

Young batting sensation Akshara Gupta was delighted after meeting former Indian captain Rohit Sharma and described the interaction as an unforgettable experience. The teenage cricketer shared a video of their meeting on social media and expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to learn from one of India’s most famous batsmen.

Rohit interacted with the Bihar Under-19 Women’s team, which recently participated in the Under-19 Women’s Elite Trophy T20. However, the campaign turned out to be a disappointment for Bihar, who lost all five matches and finished bottom of Group B. For Akshara, meeting Rohit offered an opportunity to gain valuable insights into the game and the mindset needed to succeed at the highest level.

“Memorable meeting Rohit Sharma. Grateful for his valuable insights on cricket, mindset and mentality of a champion. Truly humbled and inspired to learn from his experiences,” Akshara captioned the video.

Akshara has attracted considerable attention for her extraordinary batting exploits in age-group cricket, earning her comparisons with young batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi. The 15-year-old made headlines in June 2026 when she smashed an unbeaten 306 off just 126 balls in the Bihar Women’s Under-19 One-Day Trophy. Her remarkable innings included 55 fours and eight sixes, with her century coming off just 34 deliveries.

Akshara followed that sensational triple century with another breathtaking performance just four days later, scoring 164 off 68 balls. Her second innings featured 24 fours and six sixes, underscoring her ability to dominate bowling attacks and maintain an aggressive scoring rate.

Sooryavanshi, meanwhile, has established himself as one of India’s most exciting young batting prospects. The left-handed batsman smashed a record 175 off 80 balls in the U-19 World Cup final against England in 2026 before making his India debut during the tour of England in July.

Similarities in their fearless approach and extraordinary run-scoring ability fueled the comparison, with Akshara earning the nickname ‘Lady Sooryavanshi’.

Akshara’s meeting with Rohit comes at an important stage in her development. Having already shown her potential with record-breaking performances, she will be hoping to build on that success and continue to progress in Indian women’s cricket.
