Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan on Monday (Oct 19, 2026) launched an updated agriculture welfare portal that will provide farmers with all information about government schemes and also allow them to apply for benefits.

The platform will serve as a one-stop gateway to key government initiatives, including PM-KISAN, AgriStack and Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers said in a statement.

Farmers will get authentic information about weather conditions, scientific farming practices, availability of seeds and fertilizers and prevailing market prices of agricultural produce. A special training campaign will be conducted through Krishi Vigyan Kendras to help farmers use the portal and other digital tools effectively.

“The portal aims to provide farmers across the country with direct and easy access to government schemes, financial assistance and reliable agricultural information on their mobile phones, eliminating procedural hurdles and the role of intermediaries,” the statement said.

Addressing the launch programme, Mr. Chouhan said that the Prime Minister’s vision is to ensure that the government remains accessible to citizens and farmers through their mobile phones at any time.

The technology could only fulfill its true purpose when it reached farms and rural communities, he added.

“With the upgraded portal, farmers will no longer have to visit multiple government offices or navigate through various websites to get information about schemes or submit applications,” Chouhan said.

The portal will also bring together farmer producer organizations, primary agricultural credit companies, agricultural scientists, researchers and start-ups to create a common digital platform for the wider agricultural ecosystem.

Mr. Chouhan emphasized the importance of reliable information and directed officials to ensure that the portal remains accurate and updated regularly.

He also stressed that the language and processes must be simple enough for small and marginal farmers, including those with limited formal education, to easily understand and use the platform.

Union Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Secretary Atish Chandra, Additional Secretary Pramod Meherda, senior officials from the Digital Agriculture Division and other officials from the Ministry and the National Information Center were present at the launch.

Elaborating on the benefits of the portal, the ministry said all services will be available at one place. “Information about schemes, subsidies, rules and digital services of the ministry will be available on a single portal, reducing the time and effort farmers spend in navigating multiple platforms.”

Online eligibility checks, direct application facilities and transfer of financial assistance through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) will make processes transparent and reduce the role of middlemen, he added.
