On Saturday, the ongoing forced work across various channels in the districts of Tiruvarur and Nagapattinam on Saturday J. Jayakanthan, Secretary, Water Resources Department (WRD).
According to WRD sources, 162 desperate works covering 1327 km at Tiruvaruru are carried out at the price of 17 Crore. Almost 92% of the work was completed, the remaining work was scheduled for completion in the coming days.
In Nagapattinam there are 54 off work covering 430 km at the estimated Crore cost of 5.73 GBP, with similar progress reported.
During ISPECTION, MR. Jayakanthan reviewed the work on several key channels, including Ayantan, Marutur, Thiruthuraipoondi, Ekal, Kunnall Ranjan, Thagattur Pumming Station, Thagattur Pumming, Thgattur Pumming and Nachikula.
He responded to requests for farmers during a field visit and ordered officials to clean the water hyacinth in the Mulliyar and Manamkondanar rivers in Vedaranyam and Marakka Koraiyar in the Truvarur district.
During the inspection were R. Dhayalakumar, chief engineer, WRD, Tiruchi region, Shanugam, superintendent engineer and MG Rajendran, powerful engineer, Tiruvarur, Tiruvarur.
