
Crops cultivated by Heal Ponnunni Society at 76 centers on four land in the division of Ponnunni East.
Heal Ponnununni Society (HPS) in the Ponnunni East Division Kochi Corporation, which has become a model of sustainable waste management since its foundation in December 2023. A total of 1,828 households were registered throughout the division.
In May alone, 1.98 GBP Lakh was collected as user fees as part of the Digital Heal Harith Karma Sena initiative, while the overall collection since the start of the project is 38.67 GBP Lakh. Excellent fees are 6.58 ₹ Lakh. User fees based on QR code has been integrated into the multipurpose Kochi Corporation, My Kochi.
“Our is perhaps the only division in a state where the collection of user charges based on QR has been fully implemented.
The collected waste is scientifically and hygienically transformed into organic manure, without leaving the inhabitants any space to complain about problems such as unpleasant odor. Two months ago, HPS began launching its organic manure under the Heal Environment. The enriched manure is sold for 30 GBP per kilogram and the raw manure form for 20 GBP per kilogram with a small drain near the overpass. The product received a positive response, while repeated customers generated 31,726 GBP during this sales period.
“We are also engaged in organic farming through our own manure on free land on the basis of agreements with landowners. We are currently growing vegetables to 76 cents extended to four such plots in the division. Dumping yards,” added Mr. Dileep.
Kochi Corporation also granted HPS permission to collect waste from small facilities that are not classified as mass waste generators. The reception of these initiatives helps HPS to cover its operating costs, including employees’ wages.
