Head leader Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) T. Harish Rao demanded that the representative of the main Minister M. Bhatti Vikramark, who holds the portfolios of energy and financing, publish a white book of 510 Megawatt capacities in Hymyl Pradesh after Himachal Pradesh projects.
In his statement, the former Minister said on Friday that he tried to know the reasons for the state government’s decision to conclude an agreement with the Congress Government in HP on the construction of Hydel projects by TG-Genco in impracticable places and which will probably end up as white elephants. On the other hand, the government stated for each stage that it was not a loan.
The BRS leader, who described it as the “Tuglaq Act”, said that the well -known overseas company Moser Baer (now known as Hindustan Power Projects) took over projects in Seli and Miyar in HP in 2009 by paying a premium of 64 GBP Crore. However, it canceled the agreement after finding out that the projects were not feasible both technically and financially, and returned the amount paid together with interest after moving the High Court.
Later, NTPC entered the scene, but it also retreated after three years after the conclusion that the projects were not feasible. Now the TELANGANA government has concluded an agreement with the HP government by paying the initial bonus of 26 GBP as the certainty that they will later pay another 26 crore.
Harish Rao also demanded that the command of Congress reveal an understanding between the governments of the parties in HP and Telangana on the matter of taking the impracticable Hydel project.
