Telangana and Karnataka can combine their complementary strengths to build an integrated industrial value chain comprising aerospace, life sciences, semiconductors, textiles and technology services, Telangana IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu said on Friday (16 October 2026).

Speaking at the Invest Telangana Global Summit 2026 roadshow in Bengal, organized in collaboration with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), he invited companies from Karnataka to participate in the summit to be held at Bharat Future City, Hyderabad, from December 7 to 9.

Describing the two states as “two halves of one value chain”, Mr Sridhar Babu said Telangana was looking to partner with Karnataka rather than compete with it for investment. The two states could leverage their respective strengths in research, design, manufacturing and mass production to strengthen India’s industrial ecosystem, he said.

He mentioned the possibilities of aircraft engines designed in Bengaluru being machined in Hyderabad’s aerospace parks, vaccines developed in Bengaluru’s biotech labs being mass-produced in Genome Valley and semiconductor designs being integrated into electronics manufactured in Telangana. Similarly, cotton produced in Telangana could be processed at the Kakatiya Mega Textile Park and supplied to Bengali garment manufacturers serving global brands.

Global companies with their first Indian capability centers in Bengaluru could consider Hyderabad for their next facilities, drawing on the talent pool and innovation ecosystem comprising institutions such as the Indian Institute of Science, IIT Hyderabad, Indian School of Business and IIIT Hyderabad, besides T-Hub-backed startups, he said.

Outlining the state’s vision of Telangana Rising 2047, the minister said the government aims to build a $1 trillion economy by 2034 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047 under the leadership of Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy.

He identified the Bharat Future City as a key part of the state’s growth strategy, envisioned as a zero-grid greenfield urban development with an AI City and a dedicated Mobility Valley. Other initiatives included the Young India Skills University, the Regional Ring Road, new industrial corridors and the Musi rejuvenation programme.

The minister assured potential investors of time-bound clearances through the Telangana State Industrial Project Approval and Self-Certification System (TG-iPASS) along with support from the government to facilitate investments. He also thanked the investors for the trust they reposed in Telangana at the Telangana Rising Global Summit held in December last year.
