The narcotics rocket involving the supply of alprazolam-lped Toddy was discovered by the Anti-Narcotics Bureau Telangana (TGANB) after a coordinated intervention through Kameddy, Sangareddy and Nizamabad.
The operation was launched by a back-to-back hospitalization at the beginning of April, where more than 95 people in the Kameddy district fell ill after consuming Spiked Toddy, said Tganb, Sandeep Shandilya.
8 April was hospitalized by more than 75 individuals from Nasnulabad mandala. A day later, another 20 of the Gandhari mandala faced similar symptoms. “Tests on their blood and urine samples have confirmed the presence of benzodiazepines, including alprazolam and diazepam. These substances, usually used to treat anxiety and sleep disorders, are dangerously addictive and have been mixed to the locally sold Toddy,” the officer explained.
In response, TGANB and local police started raids on Toddy Shops. Two criminal cases were filed and four people were arrested. About 1,087 grams of alprazolam and field sets confirmed falsification in Toddy samples. The investigation revealed that the accused was only holding the Toddy knocking licenses, not for combining or distribution.
In Zheerarabad, in supervision, the police arrested three individuals and confiscated 770 grams of alprazolam along with 7.5 lakh in cash. The drugs were made in an illegal laboratory based in Ahilya Nagar in Maharashtra. Tganb gave intelligence, which led to the air raid of the Maharahtra srirampur, who revealed a massive factory. They caught 69.76 kg of alprazolam worth 17.44 crore and 338 kg of raw materials worth 6.76 crore.
Other leadership brought surgery to the Bodhane in the Nizamabad district. 16. A total of 2.5 kg of medicine, car, 2.5 lakh in cash and eight mobile phones were confiscated.
