
Two men lost their lives after their ship switched on Friday afternoon in swollen water in Parackalkadava near the collisions.
The deceased was identified as job vj, 36, and Arun Sam, 37. The third person on board Joshi managed to swim to safety.
The trio went around 14:00 for fishing in an unpeeled field using a country ship. The accident occurred when they navigated in the flooded field with fishing gears.
Joshi, who survived the accident, tried to save Joby and Arun, but his efforts were futile. Eyewitnesses said both men had been on the ship for some time, but eventually they couldn’t save themselves because they didn’t know how to swim.
The bodies have been obtained after a large searches of search will be carried out by local residents in coordination with the staff of fire and rescue services.
