Several people were injured after a portion of the Kolkata Chorbagan Sarbojanin Durga Puja pandal collapsed amid heavy crowds on Saptami evening.

The injured were taken to the Calcutta Medical College and Hospital for treatment, while the police prevented other visitors from entering the venue.

According to India Today and The Indian Express, the incident occurred when a large number of devotees had gathered at the pandal to offer prayers and view the Durga Puja arrangements.
