
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Iranian Islamic Republic warned an Indian citizen of “unauthorized individuals or illegal Indian agencies”. The warning comes after three Indian citizens allegedly disappeared after traveling to Iran.
“Given the nature of this incident, Indian citizens are strongly advised not to deceive the promises of unauthorized individuals or illegal Indian agencies offering travel to other countries.”
Iran shares an update and said that they are currently investigating the disappearance of three Indian nationals in Tehran.
This investigation is carried out in close coordination with the relevant Iranian judicial authorities. Meanwhile, the Embassy of the Republic of Indian in Tehran regularly updates the progress of the case through a continuing connection with the Iranian department of consular matters.
‘The case concerning the disappearance of three Indian nationals is followed by the Department of Consular Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iranian in coordination with the relevant judicial bodies. The Embassy of India in Tehran is also informed about court proceedings within the Islamic Republic of Irans.
The missing Indian citizen, all of the Punjab, reportedly traveled to Iran under the pretext of providing work permits for Australia. Shortly after their arrival, however, disappeared in suspicious circumstances.
The Ministry of External Affairs (Mea) confirmed the media houses that the missing individuals – identified as Yogesh Panchal, Mohammad Sadeeque and the sum SUD – traveled to Iran for business purposes since December 2024 and early January 2025.
Families reported that they would receive ransom requirements and disturbing communication, suggesting that men can be held against their will. The Indian Embassy in Tehran is actively engaged in Iranian officials to ensure a thorough investigation and a safe recovery of missing nationals.
According to the official statements quoted by The Economic Times, they arrived in Tehran in the 15 -day program forgiving a visa, which was supposed to facilitate tourism and trade exchanges.
Yogesh Panchal, in particular, recently established an export company specializing in dry fruit and apples and examined commercial opportunities in Iran. These three men were last known that they live in the Tehran Bahestan region, but the contact with them was lost shortly after their arrival.
