Chamundeshwari Electricity Supply Corporation (CESC) has intensified preparations for lighting and power arrangements for Mysuru Dasara-2026 with a focus on ensuring public safety.

CESC CEO MS Archana said precautionary measures have been taken to avoid power cuts during the Dasara festivities, which are expected to attract thousands of tourists and visitors to the city.

In a press release, she said that electrical connections and technical arrangements for lighting at major Dasara locations, roads, junctions and important buildings are being checked.

Officials and employees have been instructed to ensure the quality and safety of electrical cables, control panels, junction boxes and other equipment used for lighting. Any loose connections, exposed wires or unsafe electrical wiring will be removed immediately, she said.

As power demand is expected to increase during Dasara, CESC has kept a close eye on main substations, feeders and power lines. Additional personnel, vehicles and equipment were ready to respond to emergencies, she said.

Ms Archana said those involved in the lighting work had been instructed to ensure that the work did not disturb traffic or pose a risk to the public. Measures would also be taken in case of rain or adverse weather conditions.

“The public should cooperate with the CESC to ensure that the Dasara lighting is done safely and successfully. People should avoid touching lighting poles, installations and electrical equipment. Any electrical accident or dangerous situation should be reported to the concerned CESC officials immediately,” she said.
