The first edition of “Namma Art Bengalur”, a National level fair organized by Karnataka Chitrakal Parishath (CKP) in cooperation with the Ministry of Tourism, started on Wednesday.
“The aim of the fair is to provide artists from Karnataka and other countries. He also noted that Karnataka is one of the states that gives the importance of handmade statues, and mentioned that art should be preserved for the upcoming generations.
After the ceremonial inauguration, the audience was treated for a demonstration of a lively painting by a renowned Vilas Nayak speed painter, who painted the image of the artist Yakshagan in eight minutes and the UNESCO Hampi.
Visitors said they liked the collection of art at the fair. More than 100 participants from eight countries across the country exhibited their work of art at the fair.
“I like to collect art and I see a lot of things that I usually buy,” said Keerthi Patil, patron at the fair.
“I am excited to be part of the first Namma Art Bengaluru because it seems to be a promising annual event,” said student Aayana Dwivedi, who came to the fair.
The five -day fair ends in June 1 and takes place in the CKP campus.
