The Chief Minister Siddarmaiah said on Tuesday that BJP in Karnataka is spreading a false narrative that the government of Congress neglected Cannad and giving more funds for Urda.
“This is not just far from the truth, but a deliberate attempt to create municipal tension. It is unfortunate that the National Party behaves like irresponsible Internet trolls and spreads such unsubstantiated lies,” he said in a press release.
The main minister said the state government assigned the Ministry of Primary and Secondary education 34,438 GBP, 4,150 Crore to schools under social well -being and other departments during 2025–26. A total of 38,688 Crore-VSE for education in Kannada-Medium. In addition, Crore 999.30 ₹ was earmarked for maintenance of government schools and improving infrastructure.
“All this money is supported by Kannada education. So when BJP claims that Kannad is only given 32 crore, it is obviously a political lie to introduce people,” the main minister said.
Urda
As part of the minority care department, the amount of 100 Crore 100 Crore was awarded, Siddaramaiaha said.
“The interconnection of a language with a particular caste or religion is disrespectful towards this language. Our government respects all languages that are spoken in Karnataka. Therefore, we have a separate academy for Tulu, Konkani, Kodava, Beary and Arebhash – each with grants of 80 lacquer for cultural activities.
The main minister also said, “Kannada is not just a language for us – it is our identity, pride and mother tongue.”
BJP was introducing people by saying only 32 crore, Mr. Siddaramaiaha said, adding that “It’s not just a lie, but it’s a betrayal of Karnataka.”
