"Trump is a madman": Palestinian in Gaza ridicules Israeli schedule for taking over US President
In the midst of the ongoing Israeli-Palestinian conflict, a recent move by the Israeli government to schedule a possible takeover of the US President has sparked outrage among Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.
According to reports, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s aides recently drafted a plan to "take control" of President Donald Trump, claiming that the US leader is "unstable and unfit to lead." The move, which was leaked to the Israeli press, proposes a military operation to seize control of the White House and install a new, more pliable leader in its place.
The plan has been met with widespread ridicule and outrage in Gaza, where many see it as a desperate attempt by the Israeli government to distract from its own internal political crisis. "This is no laughing matter," said Abdul-Rahman, a resident of Gaza’s Shati refugee camp. "Trump is a madman, but this is not grounds for military intervention. We have our own problems to deal with here, like Israeli airstrikes and blockades. We don’t need some Israeli scheme to take over the US President."
In a statement released on social media, the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) called the plan "a ridiculous fantasy" and an "violent overreaction" to the current state of US politics. "The Israeli government is more concerned with meddling in US affairs than with addressing the pressing issues facing our people, like nuclear deal with Syria or lifting the siege on Gaza," the PLO said.
The proposal also drew fire from other international officials, including the UK’s ambassador to the US, who called the plan "preposterous" and "unprecedented". "This is not what allies do to each other," said Sir Kim Darroch.
Palestinians across Gaza are calling for solutions to their own problems, rather than focusing on US internal politics. "Orchestrating a military coup in Washington is not a solution to our problems," said Bassem, a student at Gaza’s Al-Aqsa University. "We need to focus on our own issues, like rebuilding our economy and liberating our country. Not some Israeli power play in the US."
As the world watches with a mix of amusement and alarm, Palestinians in Gaza vow to continue fighting for their rights and freedoms, rather than getting distracted by the latest move in the Israeli-US political drama. "We have our own battle to fight," said a Gaza resident, "and it’s not for some power grab by the Israeli government."
