
The Association of TELANGANA STATE Road Transport Corporation (TGSRTC) demanded that management hit the brakes on its plan to hire workers on a contractual basis. The Union, which has quoted retirement over several thousand workers in the last decade, called for regular recruitment to occupy long -waiting vacancies in the corporation.
Federation of employees and employees (SWF) urged the return of the move and sought notifications of regular full -time positions.
The Union claimed that 10,000 workers had retired in the last 10 years. They claimed that there was a small or no direct recruitment in the same period of time. Only a handful of compassionate appointment was made, said Veeranjaneyulu trade union offices and vs Rao.
With the Mahalaxmi scheme, which provides women’s free bus driving, launched in December 2023, enriched occupancy. This has led to the need to expand the bus fleet more buses and increase the strength of employees. The Union, however, claimed that TGSRTC did not expand its fleet to suit growing demand. The recruitment was also laid on the rear burner.
The Union argued that TGSRTC was a permanent institution to services, claiming that contractual recruitment not only in contradiction with certain provisions, but also the betrayal of unemployed youth. They noted that while regular and contractual employees fulfill the same obligations, the latter face serious differences in remuneration and uncertainty of employment.
The Union also criticized the practice of recruiting outsourcing for private suppliers. The government approach is similar to the division of trade unions, they said.
