The Telangana government has introduced a new security paper for Meeseva certificates as a measure to curb fake certificates and unauthorized duplication.
This new paper, specially designed to resist tearing and water, was unveiled at a program on Tuesday (October 13) by IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu.
The new security paper also offers greater resistance to wear and tear during normal handling, folding and long-term storage. Meeseva’s new certification paper includes 15 advanced security features that will increase the security, durability and reliability of government documents. Details of the functions are being kept secret for security reasons, the minister’s office said in a statement.
Increased durability will allow citizens to keep important certificates in good condition for years. Under normal conditions, the paper is also expected to reduce the need for lamination, offering greater convenience while helping to protect documents in the long term.
“Many government certificates are documents that citizens need to keep for decades… it is the government’s responsibility to ensure that these documents remain durable, secure and reliable,” the minister said. The introduction of the new security will also strengthen safeguards against forgery and forgery, and the initiative will boost public confidence in the authenticity and reliability of government-issued documents, he said.
Meeseva centres, which provide a range of government services across Telangana, have been using special security paper since 2011 to print certificates.
