Yashasvi Jaiswal must quit RR to break out of Sooryavanshi shadow: Ambati Rayudu
Ambati Rayudu advised Yashasvi Jaiswal to leave Rajasthan Royals to get out of Vaibhav Sooryavanshi’s shadow. Jaiswal has been with RR since 2020 and has played 82 matches and scored 2592 runs.
This season, however, Jaiswal played second fiddle to the energetic Sooryavanshi, who has scored 680 runs and is currently the Orange Cap holder. Jaiswal scored 426 runs from 15 matches and captained the Royals on two occasions. But his season was marred by inconsistency at the top.
Even during the Eliminator win against SRH, Jaiswal scored 29 off 29 balls. Sooryavanshi on the other hand scored 97 off the same number of deliveries.
Rayudu said that Jaiswal cannot afford to be overshadowed by Sooryvanshi all the time and can be a match winner in any other team.
Rayudu said Sooryavanshi will continue to overshadow other players and will need a senior partner who will not compete with him.
“He needs to change his team. Because he can’t just blow with that guy and be overshadowed every time. He’s a star in his own right. If he goes to another team, he’s going to win games on his own. He needs that space and that platform. Because this guy is going to keep overshadowing people, it’s got to be an older partner next to him that can deal with that and be happy for him.”
WHAT TEAM CAN JAISWAL GO TO?
If Jaiswal makes it to the auction pool, he will have many suitors. However, Rayudu feels that the Indian opener will come in handy for the Indian opener.
“Mumbai Indians is a good team for Jaiswal,” said Rayudu.
MI will come in handy for Jaiswal as Rohit Sharma approaches the final stretch of his career.
