Casualties feared in blast near LoC in Poonch
After an explosion in a village near the Line of Control (LoC) in the Krishna Ghati sector of Poonch in Jammu and Kashmir, non-local casualties were feared.
Preliminary reports indicate that a landmine exploded near the Nangi Takri area near the zero line on Monday (October 12, 2026). Victims were feared, officials said. “The circumstances leading to the explosion are being investigated,” they said.
An alert was sounded in Rajouri and Poonch in the Pir Panjal valley after the explosion.
Meanwhile, a house allegedly used to shelter terrorists has been attached by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in Srinagar. The NIA has attached the residence of Ghulam Mohammad Mir alias Mama Gas, a resident of Danihama in Hazratbal.
Direct nexus
“The property was attached under Section 25 of the UAPA. The investigation established a direct link between the property and the terrorist conspiracy as the premises were allegedly used to harbor Pakistani terrorists and hide incriminating materials linked to the terror network,” the NIA said.
The NIA said a case was registered on March 31, 2026 at Zakoora police station in Srinagar. Later, investigations revealed a network of local ground workers (OGWs) allegedly working in coordination with Pakistani Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) operators to facilitate infiltration, movement, shelter and logistical support for Pakistani terrorists to carry out attacks against government institutions, security forces and civilians.

The NIA said a search was conducted on April 6 at the residential premises and led to the detection of two suspected Pakistani terrorists, identified as Abu Huraira and Khubaib of the LeT.
“Explosive-like substance, digital equipment and other incriminating material were also found and seized from the premises. Investigation further revealed that the accused knowingly provided his residential premises as a safe haven for terrorists and allowed them to be used to facilitate their activities,” the NIA said.
The NIA said investigations are continuing to identify and expose the complete terror support network, including other operatives, facilitators and people linked to Pakistani handlers.
