RDPR Minister B. Eshwar Khandre, except for the delay in payment of wages under the Viksit Bharat–Garantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission Gramin (VB-G RAM G) scheme, directed the concerned officials to issue show-cause notices.

The minister directed the authorities to issue notices to 308 Panchayat Development Officers (PDOs), 12 deputy secretaries and 74 taluk panchayat executives for delay in payment of salaries.

The minister expressed displeasure over the delay in payment of wages in 311 village panchayats in 12 districts, despite issuing written instructions to the CEOs of 12 zilla panchayats that the concerned CHOPs will be held responsible if the beneficiaries do not receive their wages within 15 days of completion of work.

According to an official communiqué, the minister expressed concern over the apathetic attitude of officials towards payment of salaries despite the release of necessary funds by the government, resulting in migration of people for work.

The minister directed the department secretary and chief executives of all 12 Zilla Panchayats to ensure that such outages do not recur.

The minister said that the state government has introduced the VB-G RAM G scheme by releasing necessary funds to help farmers in need during drought, especially those belonging to the poor class, dalits and backward classes, though it has led to financial burden as the center has changed the fund sharing ratio between the center and the state from earlier 90:10 to 60:10 now.
