South Coast Railway (SCoR) on Monday (October 12, 2026) announced that another Vistadome coach will be temporarily attached to train No. 58501 Visakhapatnam-Kirandul Passenger, popularly known as the Araku train, to serve the heavy holiday traffic through the Eastern Ghats. The glass-domed bus will be added to the service from October 13 to 20, 2026 to accommodate the rush of passengers during the Dasara festival season.
Railway officials said the route, which winds through forests, deep valleys and 84 tunnels and past waterfalls in the Borra Caves and Araku Valley areas, is a major draw for tourists and locals alike. The additional Vistadome bus is expected to clear the waiting lists and allow more vacationers to enjoy the view along the Kothavalasa-Kirandul (KK) route. Passengers were asked to use the service and plan their journey in advance.
The LHB-based Vistadome sightseeing buses feature a glass roof with electrically operated anti-glare blinds and extra-large side windows for wide-angle views. They have 44 folding seats that rotate up to 180 degrees so that they face the direction of travel or the landscape.
A viewing lounge with wide windows at the back of the bus provides views of the tracks, bridges and surrounding hills. Other amenities include automatic sliding doors, GPS-based Public Address and Passenger Information System (PAPIS), Wi-Fi entertainment, LED lighting, mini pantries with microwaves and coffee makers, CCTV, bio-toilets, fire detection systems and Braille for visually impaired passengers.
