FIR against former Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal over alleged mayhem at Bangla Sahib Gurdwara | Today’s news
Delhi Police has lodged an FIR against AAP chief Arvind Kejriwal. Other party leaders are also appointed. The case follows a complaint by the Delhi Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC). This is in relation to the alleged commotion at Bangla Sahib Gurdwara, sources said on Monday.
The complaint was filed on October 11. The DSGMC alleged that AAP workers and supporters entered the gurdwara premises. They started protesting there and causing chaos and riots. The committee said that it misused the sanctity of “Guru Ghar” for political activities.
Apart from accusing the former Delhi Chief Minister, the complaint also named other AAP leaders and MLAs. She said they shared the videos on social media. These videos showed a “distorted version” of the incident. They also blamed the gurdwara management committee.
The Delhi Police has launched an investigation. They are examining the footage provided by the complainant. This will help them establish the sequence of events.
On 10 October, a large crowd of protesters gathered outside the gurdwara. They were trying to reach Jantar Mantar to join the protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. The police apprehended them before they reached the spot.
