10. The Annual International Convention of the Society for the Promotion of Indian Classical Music and Culture between the SPIC Macay will start on Monday 26 May at the Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad.
With more than 1,400 students and volunteers from all over India and abroad, the weekly absorbing expositions of Indian classical music, dancing and art will present at least 25 winners of Award Padma and another 25 winners of the Sangeet Natak, among several accompanying artists.
“I was so inspired, taken to a quiet world when I first attended Spic Macay on Iit Madras last year. I wanted them to come to Iith and approach them immediately,” Iith director BS Murty said on his way here. “Almost in tears, I watched the 82 -year -old Padma Subrahmanyam to perform for one and a half hours and the way she had performed perfection,” he added.
When he escaped to the event, from January to April, Iith was hosted by Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, Vidwan L. Subramaniam and Padma Subrahmanyam. The event on Monday will be formally launched by Governor Jishnu Dev Varma. In addition to orientation, the daily schedule is the screening of Sir Richard Attenborough Gandhi, Nadaswaram, Kuchipudi and Hindustani, the violin Lecd and the performance.

The second day, however, starts at 4 o’clock in the morning and offers traditional learning methods, far from cities distraction and strict ban on mobile phones in all events, and focused on self -discipline and reflection, schedule until the penultimate day of May 31, starts at 4:00 with Hatha Yoga or Meditation. Dinner will also be served last until 18:00
Pandits, Vidwans and Ustad will continue from 20:45 to 6:00 to 6 hours. Convention also includes interviews, spiritual sessions, workshops and crafts, community work and interaction with legendary artists.
On Sunday, five independent themes of architecture, local experience, spiritual heritage and cultural memory include walks on fortresses, tombs, palaces, temples, mosques and churches and museums.
According to the organizers, all events are created carefully with artists of the greatest recognition of each field. In principle, the events of the educational nature are not focused on entertainment.
