IMD issues orange alert in nine districts of Telangana today

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a heatwave warning for nine districts of Telangana on Thursday (May 28).

According to the latest IMD bulletin, heat conditions are very likely to prevail at isolated places in Adilabad, Kumaram Bheem Asifabad, Mancherial, Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Jayashankar Bhupalpally, Mulugu, Bhadradri Kothagudem and Khammam districts.

Besides, thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds are very likely to occur at isolated places in Bhadradri Kothagudem, Khammam, Nalgonda, Suryapet, Mahabubabad, Warangal, Hanumakonda, Jangaon, Siddipet, Yadadri Bhuvangiri, Rangareddy, Hyderabad, Medrabak, Medrabak, Sangaredabad, Medrabak, Kamareddy Districts, Mahabubnagar, Nagarkurnool, Wanaparthy, Narayanpet and Jogulamba Gadwal.

It will be generally cloudy in and around Hyderabad for the next 24 hours. “Light to moderate rain or thunderstorms accompanied by gusty winds are very likely to occur in the city. Maximum and minimum temperatures are likely to be around 36 and 26 degrees Celsius respectively,” the bulletin said.
