Telangana considers CoE for MSMEs, grievance day to resolve issues

A center of excellence (CoE) for micro, small and medium enterprises is planned in Telangana to promote technology adoption, market access and investment linkages for small and medium enterprises, IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu said here on Saturday.

It is proposed with a focus on promoting Telangana-made products in the national and international markets, the Minister said while inaugurating the LUB MSME South India Summit organized by Laghu Udyog Bharati (Telangana).

MSMEs played a vital role in industrial development and supported the livelihood of millions of families, he said, highlighting the measures the state government had initiated for such enterprises, especially the dedicated SME policy to strengthen and improve support for such enterprises.

The government also planned to organize a monthly MSME grievance day to address the grievances of their businesses and facilitate their redressal, Mr. Sridhar Babu said.

Steps have been taken to improve industrial estates in and around Hyderabad, he said and urged MSMEs to focus on product quality, technology adoption, skill development and manufacturing capacity to remain competitive.

SBI Managing Director Ram Mohan Rao and Laghu Udyog Bharati (Telangana) representatives Y. Venkateswarlu, K. Narendra Nath Dutt and Om Anuj Khadelwal, among others, attended the summit, the minister’s office said in a statement.
