The left arm of the Arshdeep Singh gained its first test challenge because the BCCI (Council for Criket in India) announced an 18-member team for the upcoming tour of England on Saturday, May 24th. India and England are about to lock the corners in five matches from June 20, which will mean the beginning of the World Championship (WTC) 2025-27.
Arshdeep Singh won his first test call on tour, while veteran Speedster Mohammed Shami was eliminated. Shami did not play a test cricket for 23 months, his latest performances appeared against Australia at the 2023 World Championship. At the beginning of this year he returned to the international cricket in January after 14 months of release of injuries.
Shami, however, was not in the best form in the Indian Premier League 2025 (IPL 2025), which of the nine shifts of only six goals. Speedster looked completely out of the rhythm in the extravaganze T20 and increased doubts about his readiness to play on the test cricket. As a result, he was finally abandoned from the team.
