YouTuber Dhruv Rathee was nabbed in a joint operation by Delhi and Gurugram police from a residential apartment in Gurugram on Saturday morning (Oct 10, 2026) ahead of a planned protest at Jantar Mantar against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar, according to news agency sources.

Mr. Rathee was staying with his parents in a flat in Central Park Vihar, Sector 56, Gurugram, when police personnel arrived at the residence. He was reportedly taken to an undisclosed location in Gurugram.
According to available information, Delhi Police personnel entered the residence around 7:48 am after his mother opened the door. Around 50 police officers reportedly gathered outside the residence late Friday night (October 9).
Mr. Rathee reportedly traveled to Delhi to attend the proposed demonstration at Jantar Mantar. The planned protest comes amid heightened security in the state capital, with police imposing restrictions on public movement and traffic in anticipation of the rally.
On Friday (Oct 9), Mr Rathee posted a video on Instagram shot on Kartavya Path in which he questioned the extensive security measures and traffic restrictions put in place ahead of the planned protest. These reportedly included the proposed closure of metro stations, cancellation of trains and temporary suspension of mobile internet services in parts of central Delhi.
The reported arrest comes during a wider police operation in the state capital.
