Eggs are an affordable source of nutrition, says MP on World Egg Day

Visakhapatnam MP M. Sribharat on Friday urged people to include eggs in their daily diet, citing their nutritional value and health benefits.

Addressing the World Egg Day program organized by the Visakhapatnam zone of the National Egg Coordinating Committee (NECC) at RK Beach, he lauded the organizers for raising public awareness about egg consumption.

NECC zonal chairman T. Sreedhar said the egg could help prevent malnutrition among children. He described eggs as an inexpensive, complete food that supports the growth and immunity of people of all ages.

Visakhapatnam East MLA Velagapudi Ramakrishna Babu said eggs are a nutritious food within the reach of all sections of the society.

Andhra Pradesh Poultry Federation (APPF) vice-president TU Bhaskar said the program aims to create widespread awareness about the benefits of including eggs in daily meals and could help build a healthier society amid changing lifestyles.

Egg-based dishes were sold locally at subsidized prices. Cultural programs were also held.
