Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy condemns alleged lathicharge on Khammam MP

Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy has condemned the alleged arraignment of Khammam MP R Raghuram Reddy by the Delhi Police during a protest led by the INDIA Bloc demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar in New Delhi on Wednesday.

In a statement issued here on Thursday, the minister said the MP was injured after the police used batons when he was advancing towards Jantar Mantar along with Congress leader Rahul Gandhi.

Mr. Srinivas Reddy said that it was unfortunate that opposition parties were prevented from holding protests on the issue of electoral rights and that such actions were against the spirit of democracy.
