“We can take the heat but common people are sweating because of the BJP sponsored inflation fire. Why don’t you ever say anything about looting your own government, Modi ji?” Mr Kharge said in a post in Hindi on X.

His remarks came after Mr Modi urged citizens to take maximum precautions as the country witnesses soaring temperatures, saying staying hydrated is key during such extreme weather conditions.

In a series of posts on X, the Prime Minister said that children, the elderly and those who work outdoors are particularly vulnerable to extreme heat and that no one should ignore the warning signs of heat exhaustion, as it can quickly become dangerous and can even lead to heat stroke.

“Various parts of India are witnessing soaring temperatures and the problems that come with it. This heat is rough on all of us and I urge you all to take as many precautionary measures as possible,” he said.

Mr. Modi urged everyone to stay hydrated, carry water whenever you step out and also offer a glass of water to others as kindness goes a long way in such extreme weather conditions.

“Watch for signs of heat exhaustion such as dizziness, nausea or extreme fatigue. If someone around you is unwell, weak or has a headache, it is best to help them move to a cool, shady place immediately,” he said.

Mr. Modi also appealed to the citizens to help the heat affected and provide them with water, ORS etc. which would provide relief.
