Bengaluru CJP protest today: Prakash Raj, Dhruv Rathee to join ‘people’s tribunal’ to protest SIR | Key Things You Should Know | Today’s news
Bengaluru’s Freedom Park will host a CJP protest on Thursday where activists and public figures will come together to express concerns over the ongoing electoral roll revision exercise. The protest comes just two days before the CJP’s planned October 10 demonstration.
During a joint press conference on Wednesday, CJP co-convener Saurav Das urged people across the country to travel to Delhi and be prepared for a prolonged agitation. “This fight will not be easy. I urge everyone across the country to join us, book train and air tickets,” he said.
Even if Kumar steps down, the protesters will not back down because the electoral system must be cleaned, Das said, arguing that the BJP’s suppression reflected a “lust for eternal power”.
Protesters are demanding the resignation of the CEC at various demonstrations across the country.
