Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has accused the Narendra Modi government of using central investigative agencies and recently the Election Commission of India to influence election results and demanded the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

Speaking to reporters in New Delhi, where leaders of the INDIA bloc, including Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi, protested on Wednesday, he claimed that the BJP has realized that misuse of the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is not yielding the desired electoral results and is now using the Election Commission to influence elections in the states of Bengal, Maharash.

Mr. Revanth Reddy said, “Once it was the Simon Go Back movement that led to India’s freedom. Today the resignation of Gyanesh Kumar will lead to Narendra Modi leaving the Prime Minister’s chair. PM Modi must ensure the resignation of Gyanesh Kumar, that is the demand of the Congress.”

He recalled that Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi had revealed how Gjanesh Kumar had become a “tool” of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to subvert the constitution and deprive several sections of their votes through the electoral roll revision process.

Mr. Reddy said the ECI was created to ensure that every citizen could exercise the right to vote and choose the government of their choice as guaranteed by the Constitution.
