A training aircraft attached to the Redbird Flight Training Academy at the Kalaburagi Airport on Tuesday evening made an emergency landing at an agricultural field near the airport along Sedam Road on the outskirts of Kalaburagi town, reportedly after experiencing a technical snag.

No casualties were reported in the incident. Two training pilots were supposed to be on board the plane at the time of the emergency landing.

According to preliminary information, the plane developed a technical problem while flying near the airport. The pilots managed to land safely by acting quickly.

The incident took place within Madbool police station limits. Residents rushed to the scene after spotting the plane in a farm field.

Airport sources confirmed that the incident occurred at around 5.45pm and the aircraft was still in an agricultural area.

A team from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation is expected to conduct an investigation on Wednesday.
