Telangana Government approves guidelines to regulate temporary and hyper-local advertisements in CURE
The Telangana government has approved guidelines for the regulation of temporary and hyper-local advertisements in the Core Urban Region (CURE), which allow such advertisements to be booked online through designated venues.
The guidelines, approved by the Advertising Regulation Committee during its meeting held on September 9, 2026, stipulate that each department will designate places for temporary and hyperlocal advertising at the departmental level. About 5 to 10 slots will be reserved for temporary advertisements and 25 to 50 for hyperlocal advertisements which will be approved by the concerned Deputy Commissioner and made available for online booking.
Hyperlocal advertising will include announcements such as class announcements, rental announcements, missing person or dog announcements, tournament invitations, and social events.
Applicants can use MyCURE or Advertisement App to select department, category, location, duration and size of advertisement, upload advertisement draft and make the prescribed payment. Each approved ad will need to display a QR code containing the booking details and printer ID.
Temporary ads will be allowed for a maximum of three days, while hyperlocal ads can be displayed for up to seven days.
The maximum size allowed will be 18 x 18 feet for temporary ads and 6 x 6 feet for hyper-local ads, both non-digital. Charges for temporary ads range from ₹1,000 to ₹4,000 per day depending on the location, while hyper-local ad charges range from ₹100 to ₹500 per day.
The guidelines prohibit advertising on trees, listed buildings, electricity pylons, transformers, flyovers and statues unless specifically permitted. Advertisements must not obstruct traffic, footpaths, traffic signals, road signs, CCTV visibility or public services. The cost of restoring public property damaged during installation or removal will be recovered from the applicant.
Unauthorized advertisements will be immediately removed by city authorities, police or Hyderabad Disaster Response & Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA), with penalties and removal charges being levied on those responsible. The penalties prescribed range from ₹2,000 to ₹8,000 per day for temporary ads and ₹1,000 to ₹2,000 per day for hyper-local ads, depending on the location.
