The Mysuru district produces approximately 15,000 to 17,000 tons of manga per year per 1,185 hectares of cultivated soil. According to officials from the Ministry of Horticulture, the 2025 season recorded a significant improvement in the yield compared to the previous two years.
The crop was adversely affected in 2023 and 2024 due to prolonged thermal waves and poor soil moisture, resulting in years for mango production. These conditions have led to a reduction in availability and higher prices, disappointment of farmers and consumers. On the other hand, this year’s favorable weather contributed to better flowering and fruit development, which led to the good season of manga.
In 2021, Karnataka produced about 15 lakh tons of mangoes, but production in 2022 dropped to 8 to 9 Lakh tons and further decreased in the following years. Improved conditions in 2025 benefited farmers.
Over the years, Mango has grown in popularity and has become a very expected event in Mysur. It is expected that with good yields and high -quality productions this year will attract large crowds.
