Yoga Dasara features a science seminar, competitions and a trek

Organized as part of the Mysuru Dasara 2026 celebrations, Yoga Dasara will be held on October 14, 16, 18 and 19 at various venues in Mysuru and Nanjangud.

Deputy Director Land Records and Yoga Dasara Deputy Special Officer Ramya said Health Minister UT Khader will inaugurate the event on October 14 at 10 am at the Alumni Hall of Mysore Medical College and Research Institute at JK Ground.

On the same day, a one-day science seminar on yoga is held at the venue. Dr. MU Sujan, Dr. P. Sudhakar, Dr. Harish Babu and Dr. Arun PG will talk about the role of yoga in leading a healthy life and other related topics.

District AYUSH Officer Dr. Renuka Devi said that the state level Dasara Yogasana competition will be held at the P. Kalinga Rao Hall at the Exhibition Grounds on October 16. MLA TS Srivatsa will launch the contest at 10 am.

Participants can register for the competition online. Cash prizes of ₹ 3,000, ₹ 2,500 and ₹ 2,000 will be awarded to the first, second and third place winners.

The Rural Yoga Dasara program will be held on the premises of the Government Pre-University School, Nanjangud on October 18. The program will be inaugurated by MLA Darshan Dhruvanarayan.

Dasara Yoga Sub-Committee Working President Niroop Wesley said that a Yoga Trek and Durga Namaskara program will be organized on October 19. Participants will make their way from the foot of Chamundi hill to the temple by steps from 6 am.

A stage program including Durga Namaskara yogasana will be held in the temple premises from 8 am. MLA GT Deve Gowda will attend the programme.
