Arrested sailor returned to judicial custody

Secret Service officials produced arrested seaman Pradeep Mukherjee at a court in Vijayawada on Monday (October 5, 2026). Counter Intelligence (CI) officers who were monitoring the sailor’s activities picked him up from Coimbatore. The accused allegedly leaked sensitive information about the Visakhapatnam naval base and its operations to a Pakistani intelligence agent through social media. The court granted the defendant custody.
