Admiral Paparo met the top Indian military leadership at the US envoy’s dinner in New Delhi

US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor hosted a dinner at the Roosevelt House on Sunday (October 4, 2026) for Admiral Samuel J. Papara, commander of the US Indo-Pacific Command, during his visit to India from October 5-8, bringing together senior Indian military leaders and officials to highlight the growing US-India defense partnership.

According to the US Embassy in New Delhi, Admiral Paparo joined Chief of Defense Staff General NS Raja Subramani, Chief of Army Staff General Dhiraj Seth, Air Chief of Air Staff Ashutosh Dixit, Chief of Air Force Integrated Defense Staff Tejinder Singh and other senior Indian defense officials at the dinner.

The gathering comes as Admiral Paparo is in India to push for a major US-India defense partnership and deepen military cooperation.

During his visit, he is expected to hold discussions with his Indian counterparts on common security priorities, including maritime cooperation, new technologies, regional strategic stability and defense energy resilience.

Admiral Paparo heads the US Indo-Pacific Command, the nation’s oldest and largest geographic combatant command, overseeing US military operations in the Indo-Pacific region.

The dinner also brought an economic dimension to the bilateral meeting, which featured Montana Governor Greg Gianforte along with a delegation of business and industry leaders visiting India.

The US Embassy said the gathering reflects the breadth of India-US relations, with its defense and economic bases continuing to expand.

Admiral Papara’s visit comes at a time of deepening defense ties between India and the US, with both countries seeking to expand cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region, maritime security, defense technology and other emerging strategic areas.
