Telangana CEO orders action against applicants who furnish false declarations in Form 6, 6A, 7 and 8

Telangana Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) C. Sudharsan Reddy has directed District Electoral Officers (DEOs) and Collectors to instruct the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) to take action against applicants who have made knowingly false statements or declarations in Forms 6, 6A, 7 and 8.

In a memo issued on Monday (October 5, 2026), he cited instances of bulk Form 7 applications for the ERO and allegations that the forms were not genuine had surfaced in the CEO’s office.

He said an inquiry must be initiated under Rule 20 of the Electoral Registration Rules, 1960, before taking action under the provisions of Section 31 of the Representation of People Act, 1950.
