Tamil Nadu Elections: Public holiday for Madurantakam, Dharapuram on 6 October

The Tamil Nadu government has declared a public holiday in Madurantakam (Chengalpattu district) and Dharapuram (Tiruppur district) assembly constituencies on October 6 (Tuesday), the polling day for the Tamil Nadu by-elections.

An order issued by Chief Secretary M. Sai Kumar said employees working in Chengalpattu, Tiruppur and neighboring districts but registered as voters in Madurantakam and Dharapuram constituencies should also be given paid leave.

“All government offices, including industrial establishments of government and government-controlled bodies, and all educational institutions in the areas included in Madurantakam and Dharapuram constituencies will remain closed,” he said.
