Tirupati police arrest three, recover 24 stolen motorcycles

Tirupati police on Sunday (October 4, 2026) recovered 24 stolen motorcycles worth ₹25,000 and arrested three persons involved in the crime.

The Tirupati West Police, led by Sub-Divisional Police Officer M. Bhaktavatsalam, launched a series of raids on the instructions of Superintendent of Police L. Subbarayudu.

Police on Sunday arrested Areddula Vinod Kumar (32), Cherlopalli Govindarajula (34), Govindaswamy Murali (30) and recovered 24 vehicles of stolen motorcycles from Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. Three regular offenders had 21, 14 and 17 cases on their heads.

Addressing a media conference, Additional Superintendents of Police K. Ravi Manoharachary (Law and Order) and A. Srinivasulu (Admin) said that nine of the recovered vehicles were mapped to cases registered at various police stations, while details of the remaining fifteen were collected and collated.
