E-commerce delivery agent mugged in Karkhana, case booked

A 24-year-old Zepto delivery man was allegedly assaulted by a customer after an argument over a delivery location in Karkhana on Saturday night.

The delivery man, Ashish, went to deliver the order at around 7 pm when the customer, identified as Ajay Kumar, 35, allegedly asked him to come to another place saying that he was not at home.

Ashish reportedly refused and asked the customer to contact him when he was available at the delivery address. This led to a verbal exchange between the two over the phone.

Police said Ashish subsequently went to the customer’s residence to complete the delivery, where another argument ensued. The delivery man was allegedly assaulted and suffered a minor bleeding head injury.

After the incident, both Ashish and Ajay Kumar approached the Karkhana police station with complaints. The police have registered a case in connection with the alleged assault and further investigation is underway.
