The National Investigation Agency (NIA) arrested two refugees identified as members of the sleeping cell of the prohibited ISIS terrorist organization. The arrest is associated with the 2023 case, which includes the production and testing of improvised explosive devices (IED) in Pune, Maharashtra, according to the official statement of NIA.
“Both men, identified as Abdullah Faiyaz Shaikh Diaperwal and Talha Khan, were captured by the Office for Immigration at the International Airport in Bombai T2 when they tried to return to India from Jakarta, Indonesia where they were hiding.

NIA previously announced a cash reward £3 Lakh each for information leading to the arrest of two accused.
Both individuals avoided arrests for more than two years and were objects of unstoppable orders issued by a special court of Nia in Mumbai.

The case concerns the criminal plot by these men, along with eight other members of the ISIS PUNE SLEEPER module, already arrested and in judicial custody.
“They were written to commit terrorist actions to disrupt Indian peace and social harmony by waging the war against the Indian government in support of the ISIS agenda to introduce the Islamic government through violence and terror,” Nia said in official release.

These two men, who were already charged with other arrested accused, dealt with the assembly of IED from the house rented by Abdullah Faiyaz Shaikh in Kondhwa, Pune.
Refugees took part in the bomb production workshop
During the period 2022-2023, they also organized and participated in the workshops for the production of bombs and training, in addition to carrying out the inspected explosion, to try the IED in these premises, which invented them, NIA said.
