Green Visakha members staged a protest at the Gandhi statue in the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation on Friday to mark Gandhi Jayanti, opposing the proposed artificial intelligence (AI) data centers and raising concerns over air pollution and environmental protection. They placed the same representation on the statue which they submitted to the chairman of the Andhra Pradesh Pollution Control Board (APPCB) and other officials concerned. The environmental NGO called on the government to protect natural resources, drinking water sources and coastal ecosystems and ensure compliance with environmental regulations. He also raised concerns about the impact of data centers on land, water resources and fishing communities.
