Ravi Shastri revealed a chat with Rohit Sharma during IPL as he got to the heart with an opener about the missing Sydney test during Trophy Border-Gavascar 2024-25. Rohit recently announced his retirement from the longest format games. Former India’s captain tolerated the harsh period of the tour in Australia, where only 31 runs scored in 5 shifts.
This caused the then Indian captain to call Discard from playing XI for the final test in Sydneywith a series to 2-1. When he talked to ICC, Shastri said he was talking to Rohit about a call and said that if he was a coach, a 38 -year -old would play this final game because the series was not over.
Shastri said it was someone who never inappropriate a towel, and it wasn’t a stage to leave Rohit a team with a score at 2-1.
“I saw Rohit a lot of throwing. In throwing, you don’t have enough time to speak. Although I put my hand on my shoulder in one of the games.”
“I think it was in Mumbai and I told him if I were a coach, you would never play the last test match. You would play the last test match because the series would not end.”
“And I’m not someone who threw a towel with a score of 2-1. If your thinking is, you feel it’s not a stage, you will leave the team,” Shastri said.
‘Rohit is the winner of the match’
Shastri said he felt that it was 30-40 playing the game and Rohit is the winner of the match that could sense the situation and conditions and got a score of 35-40. Former Indian coach said he wore in his heart for a long time.
“It was a game of 30-40 running. And that’s exactly what I told him. The playground was so spicy in Sydney. Whatever the kind of he was, the match was the winner,” Shastri said.
“If he left, sensed the situation, sensed the condition, and even broke it 35-40 above, you never know. This series would be a level. But it is each of his own.”
“Other people have different styles. That would be my style and I let him know. It has long been sitting in my heart. I had to get it out. And I told him.”
Australia eventually won this match of 6 goals and wrapped a series of 3-1.
