Coal production in India rose 9.2% in September.

India’s coal production rose 9.2% year-on-year to 53.5 million tonnes (MT) in September, while shipments rose 12.5% ​​to 61.2 MT.

Deliveries to the energy sector, which is its biggest consumer, rose by 10.6% to 48.9 MT. Deliveries to the unregulated sector increased by 19.4%.

The state-owned miner said the sustained operational pace boosted its confidence in meeting its FY27 production target of 815 MT and supply target of 850 MT.

Coal production and stocks are expected to pick up after the monsoon.
