Asian Games: India face Pakistan for gold after crushing Sri Lanka in semi-finals

India destroyed Sri Lanka in the men’s cricket semi-finals at the Asian Games to set up a gold medal showdown with Pakistan. After Pakistan beat Bangladesh by six wickets in the rain-curtailed semi-final, India made an absolute mockery of Sri Lanka by beating them by 124 runs at the Korogi Sports Club in Nisshin.

Ishan Kishan laid the platform with a knock of 80 runs on a pitch that was difficult to bat on, after which the Indian bowlers wreaked havoc on the Sri Lankan batsmen. India eventually bowled out Sri Lanka for 45 in 9.5 overs, making it a ridiculously one-sided semi-final.

Last month, Indian women’s team led by Harmanpreet Kaur successfully defended their gold medal. Shreyas Iyer now has a chance to help the men’s team achieve the same feat.
